We finally found some snow and tried out snowdyeing. Loved the effects and patterns and one can never tell what will appear.
This one was Colbalt Blue and Lavender pre-mixed fabric dyes. I added a bit of Navy Blue after the first lot of dye had filtered through the snow. The fabric was presoaked in soda ash and still wet when it went into the tub. Some were on racks, some were not (I only had 2 racks).
Forrest Green and Lemon. Note the browns that have come out from the Forrest Green. I suspect there was black in this premix too!
This is my results of two different days of dyeing. The pale green on the right may well see some more dye as it just does not have enough colour for me. I used fabric at 2.5 and 3.5 yards long.
The photo below is me at the layby where we found the snow. This orange and dark brown did not turn out too well so I gave it to my friend who did like it.
